Project Name: Container Resettlement Housing for Earthquake Relief in Turkey
On February 6, 2023, a powerful 7.8-magnitude earthquake mercilessly swept through southern Turkey. In an instant, urban buildings collapsed with a loud crash, infrastructure was severely damaged, and millions of disaster victims were displaced and in difficult situations. The Turkish government promptly launched rescue operations and made every effort to accommodate the affected people. Meanwhile, China also extended a helping hand at the first moment, urgently allocating supplies to Turkey. Among them, container houses became a glimmer of hope for the affected people.
At first, the Turkish government used temporary tents to accommodate the disaster victims. However, these temporary tents were unable to withstand bad weather and could not meet the long-term living needs, making it difficult to fundamentally solve the resettlement problem in the post-disaster reconstruction. The container houses supported by China, with their solid structure, good insulation and wind and rain resistance, have provided safe and warm shelters for the disaster victims in harsh environments, earning wide recognition and praise from the local people. Based on this, the Turkish government has decided to purchase container houses from China to accelerate the post-disaster resettlement process.
My client, as the agent of the container resettlement housing project for the earthquake relief in Turkey, found our company through the Internet. On the evening of March 7, 2023, we held a video conference with the client to have an in-depth communication about their procurement requirements for container houses and to fully understand their specific requirements in terms of size, function, configuration, etc. Early the next morning, we responded promptly and set up a sample room, waiting patiently for the arrival of the Turkish government quality inspectors.
On the morning of March 12th, the quality inspector arrived as scheduled and conducted a strict and meticulous inspection of all raw materials of the container mobile house, including steel, insulation materials, and door and window accessories, leaving no detail unchecked. Considering the large quantity of this purchase and the long transportation distance, the Turkish side plans to install it by themselves. We have rebuilt a complete set of container samples and cooperated with the quality inspectors throughout the process, shooting detailed installation explanation videos. From the basic construction, box assembly to the installation of water and electricity lines, each step was clearly demonstrated and explained, providing comprehensive guidance for the subsequent installation work in Turkey.
With excellent product quality and professional service attitude, our container houses successfully passed the inspection and won high recognition from the Turkish government. On March 17th, both parties officially signed a purchase contract for 1,600 sets of container houses. After that, the factory promptly organized production, allocated human and material resources, and worked overtime to catch up with the products. It took only 11 days, on March 28th, to complete the production and loading of 1,600 sets of container houses. On that day, the quality inspector who had been working with us day and night for more than half a month set off for the return journey. Before leaving, he took a group photo with all the employees of the factory and gave extremely high praise to the factory's production capacity, management level and product quality.
Subsequently, 1,600 sets of container houses, brimming with hope, embarked on a long journey of sea transportation. After about 50 days of drifting, they successfully arrived at the construction site of the project in Turkey. During the installation process, the technicians of our factory maintained close communication with the Turkish installation team. Through video calls, phone guidance and other means, they answered various technical questions encountered during the installation process in real time to ensure the smooth progress of the installation work.
After five months of efforts, all 1,600 sets of container resettlement houses have finally been installed. After the project was successfully completed, we held a video celebration meeting with the Turkish installers and the project leader. At the meeting, the project leader from Turkey was full of praise for our product quality, delivery speed, and especially the professional and efficient after-sales service, highly affirming our comprehensive strength. This cooperation not only contributed Chinese strength to Turkey's post-disaster reconstruction, but also demonstrated the quality and responsibility of "Made in China", adding a new chapter to the friendly exchanges between the two countries.
